CTP-endorsed Security Specialists Register now live

The Counter Terrorism Policing-endorsed Security Specialists Register is now live.
Businesses and organisations can now access the register of protective security specialists, developed as part of new measures set out in response to the Manchester Arena terror attack.
The Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES) provides access to a wide pool of verified expertise across multiple disciplines.
It is open to enquiries and expressions of interest to those wishing to join it.
The Register has been developed by RSES and the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) and will be administered by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
The members of RSES included on the register are bound by a code of professional conduct, which ensures access to trusted, competent specialists; assurance that individuals meet recognised standards; confidence that members are bound by a professional code of conduct; and a straightforward way to identify qualified counter terrorism protective security support.
Senior National Coordinator for Protect and Prepare Jon Savell, said: “Our highest mission is protecting people in the UK, and ensuring that businesses and organisations know how to keep their premises secure is a key part of that. This new register will empower organisations and venues to make informed decisions about protective security and preparedness though specialist advice by people who really understand this operating environment.
“Industry feedback was very clear that organisations want to be able to access professional and credible advice. CTP endorses RSES because it only accepts membership after vetting the competence of those seeking inclusion on the lists of specialists they hold.
“It’s similar to other more familiar professional registers, ones that show your surgeon, accountant, or structural engineer is properly accredited. It means you can trust the advice you’re being given is backed by us and other experts. It provides that same reliable, peer‑reviewed assurance for security specialists who have been rigorously and independently assessed.”
