Man charged with terrorism offences after social media posts

A man from Smethwick has been charged with terrorism offences after messages in support of a proscribed group were posted on social media.

An investigation was begun by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit after they were alerted to online posts in January this year.

Moin Uddin has been charged with four offences contrary to section 12(1A) of the Terrorism Act 2000.

He has also been charged with three offences contrary to section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986 between December 2023 and January 2024.
