Man convicted of possession of terrorism document

A man from Risca, near Newport, have been found guilty of possession of a document containing information of a kind likely to be of use to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Daniel Niinmae was convicted on Monday 16 September, after a two-week trial at Winchester Crown Court.

The 41-year-old was acquitted of two offences of dissemination of a terrorist publication, contrary to Section Two of the Terrorism Act 2006.

He will be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court at 10.00am on Wednesday 27th November 2024.

The conviction comes after an investigation by Terrorism Policing Wales.
