Man charged with terrorism offences following attempted Israeli Embassy break in

Abdullah Sabah Albardri, 33 of no fixed abode, has been charged with a terrorism offence following an incident at the Embassy of Israel on Monday 28th April.

He was charged with the preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5(1)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2006, and two counts of possession of a point or bladed article, contrary to Section 139(1) and (6) of the Criminal Justice Act.

This follows his attempt at gaining unauthorised access to the grounds of the Embassy of Israel in Kensington on Monday 28th April. Officers from the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command were made away just before 18:00 hours, and arrested him on suspicion of a public order offence, trespassing on a designated site, and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was then taken to a London police station and then arrested after he was under suspicion of an offence contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

He has been remanded in custody until 7th May and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 30th April.
