532 people arrested at Palestine Action protest

532 people were arrested during a policing operation in central London on Saturday.

522 people were arrested for displaying placards in support of a proscribed organisation (Palestine Action), contrary to Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000. 

A further six people were arrested for assaulting officers and one for obstructing a constable in the execution of his/her duty. Two people were arrested for breaching Section 14 Public Order Act conditions and one for a racially aggravated public order offence.

The average age of those arrested was 54, with 259 people over the age of 60.

Those whose details could be confirmed were released on bail to appear at a police station at a future date, under conditions not to attend any further demonstrations related to Palestine Action.
