Tougher measures to be introduced for buying knives online

The government has announced plans to introduce tougher measures for people buying knives online.
In the wake of the Southport attack, new restrictions for people to prove their age will be introduced.
The Southport attacker was able to buy a knife from Amazon, aged 17, despite laws prohibiting the sale of most knives to under-18s.
Online retailers will now have to ask anyone buying a knife for two types of identification - an identity document such as a passport and a live video to record their age.
