Derry man arrested for terrorism offences

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in the Derry/Londonderry area under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The arrest comes as detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Terrorism Investigation Unit were investigating a security alert in the Southway area of Creggan on Tuesday 9th July.

The man was released following questioning and the investigation remains ongoing.
