Met Police issues statement on London Policing following events in Israel and Gaza

The Met Police has issued a statement on a policing operation in central London, following events in Israel and Gaza.
Events in central London on Monday night have concluded, three arrests have been made and live arrest enquiries are underway.
There have been more police officers on the streets, with an enhanced visible presence particularly in Jewish communities.
The force worked with organisers ahead of the protests and vigils.
Three arrests have been made for assault on an emergency worker, racially-motivated criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
Investigations are underway into criminal damage of a building on Kensington High Street.
The statement also mentioned concerns raised about the display of flags and other symbols that could make people feel threatened. However, as these are not flags of proscribed organisations, there is no criminal offence.
The statement concluded: "Londoners will continue to see officers on the streets, in our communities across London in the days to come following days to reassure and protect. We have zero tolerance for any hate crimes. Anyone with concerns, or who has witnessed any offences should speak to an officer or contact police online, via 101 or call 999 in an emergency."
