Met no longer requires mutual aid

The Metropolitan police has announced that the force no longer requires mutual aid officers to assist in London.

There is no requirement for the Ministry of Defence or armed forces for assistance.

The news comes as further armed officers have returned to armed duties and London now has a comprehensive and London-wide firearms response.

Senior officers are continuing to meet with and support colleagues.
