French investigate car attack on police

A 29-year-old Frenchman who claimed allegiance to ISIS is facing possible terrorism charges after he rammed his car into police, injuring three officers.

The incident, which took place on 27 April, saw the driver slam into police cars and police motorcycles in the northwestern Paris suburb of Colombes, sending three officers to the hospital. The national counter-terrorism prosecution office has said that the was arrested, and investigators found a knife in his car alongside a letter pledging allegiance to ISIS.

Their statement said that the yet-to-be identified man is facing possible charges of links to criminal terrorism and attempted killing of officers in connection with a terrorist enterprise.
