SCTX launches new crowd management event

The People Movement and Management Show (PMMS) will take place at London’s Olympia from 6-7 March 2018 alongside the Security and Counter Terror Expo (SCTX).

Event organisers Clarion have joint with GSE Media to run the trade event, which will lead in the rapidly expanding people analytics field.

In June, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) published new Crowded Places guidance, highlighting the growing requirement to manage the movement of all people within crowded environments to provide sufficient protection whilst not affecting the visitors overall experience. Managers of crowded places now have to cover the key areas of protective security, including physical, personnel, personal and cyber as well as needing to assess and build a security plan to help build resilience against major incident.

Tim Porter, managing director of Clarion Defence and Security, said: “We are pleased to welcome the PMMS event to run alongside SCTX under the UK Security Week umbrella. The challenges inherent in securing crowded spaces and major events are already high on the agenda of our visitors at SCTX, so the emerging new technologies and solutions on show at PMMS will only add to the high-quality experience that both visitors and exhibitors already enjoy. With five events now under one roof – SCTX, Ambition, Forensics Expo Europe, The World Counter Terror Congress and now PMMS – UK Security Week 2018 is shaping up to be a compelling proposition for the communities all five events serve.”
