Arrest made at London Mosque stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing inside a central London mosque.

The 70-year-old victim is described as having injuries from several stab wounds, at least one to the neck, but his condition is non-life threatening.

A Twitter user posted footage of a man, sitting crossed-legged in the mosque, apparently being held in cuffs behind his back by a policeman. A crime scene has been put in place and inquiries continue.

The Metropolitan Police has since said that the attack is not being treated as terror related.

The incident took place at London Central Mosque in Park Road, near Regent's Park.
