Rapper bailed after terrorism charge

Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, from Irish group Kneecap, has been released on bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court on a terrorism charge.

The 27-year-old, who was charged under the name Liam O'Hanna and performs as Mo Chara, was accused of displaying a flag in support of proscribed organisation Hezbollah at a gig in London in November 2024.

Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh is alleged to have worn and "displayed the flag of Hezbollah, a proscribed terrorist organisation, while saying 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah'".

Showing support for a proscribed terrorist organisation is a terrorist offence.

He will appear in court for the next hearing on 20 August.
