Two arrests made by Counter Terrorism Command

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command have arrested two men at separate residential addresses in south and east London.

The men, aged 38 and 33, were both arrested on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006. The arrests were made under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) as part of the same investigation.

Searches of the addresses are ongoing.

The news follows the revelation that a man who shared explosives and firearms manuals while expressing his far-right views online has been convicted of terrorism offences.
