Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command have arrested a 31-year-old man in south London on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism, contrary to section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The man was arrested on 17 June under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and taken into custody to a south London police station where he has been detained.

Police are searching an address in south London and have said that enquiries are ongoing.
