Pipe bomb found in Northern Ireland

A security alert in Banbridge, Northern Ireland has ended after a suspicious object was found.

Police received a report at 1.20 am on Monday morning of a suspicious object in the Lenaderg Road area.

Officers attended the scene and a viable pipe bomb-type device was removed and taken away for further forensic examination.

Detective Sergeant Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we appeal to anyone with any information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 48 14/04/25.”
