Leeds man charged with terrorism offences

A 33-year-old man from Leeds has been charged with 11 terrorism offences.

The American has been charged with nine counts of collect a record of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The man was arrested on 29 January 2025, as part of an intelligence-led operation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on 17 March 2026.
