35 people killed in China attack

35 people have been killed after a car drove into crowds at a stadium in the Chinese city of Zhuhai.

According to police, the attacker acted out of unhappiness over a divorce settlement. The 62-year-old driver is in a coma due to self-inflicted wounds.

There are reports that officials are censoring discussion on the incident, but it is believed to be China's deadliest act of violence in decades.

The victims are believed to have been exercising in the stadium. 45 people were also injured.

The attack follows a stabbing and firearms attack in Shandong in February in which 21 people were killed. In October, a knife attack at a school in Beijing injured five and in September three people were killed in a stabbing at a supermarket in Shanghai.
