Cyber security has never been more essential to our resilience
Jeremy Fleming, the director of GCHQ, addressed a virtual audience as part of CYBERUK 2021 and warned that cyber security has never been more essential to the nation’s prosperity and resilience.
Outlining how a whole nation approach is needed to reap the benefits of technology and guarantee our future security and prosperity, Fleming said that ‘cyber is most definitely a team sport’.
Fleming also said that without action it is increasingly apparent that the key technologies on which we rely for prosperity and security won’t be shaped and controlled by the West, with significant technology leadership moving East causing a conflict of interests.
CYBERUK welcomes speeches from Home Secretary Priti Patel and Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, as well as SolarWinds CEO Sudhakar Ramakrishna and Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States & Deputy National Security Advisor Anne Neuberger. CYBERUK is being held on 11-12 May 2021.
