Lord Mark Lancaster reappointed defence and security advocate
The government has reappointed Lord Mark Lancaster as its defence and security advocate.
Lord Lancaster's role will be to drive the UK’s defence and security export success until March 2026.
He is to report directly to the Business and Trade Secretary and will continue at-home and overseas visits to promote UK defence and security exports.
Lord Lancaster was initially appointed to the role in January 2023. He is Director of the Army Reserves and was a Defence Minister between 2015-2019. He also previously served as a Major in the Territorial Army, serving as part of NATO peacekeeping forces in Kosovo and Bosnia.
