Police appeal for information after viable device found in West Belfast

Police in Northern Ireland are appealing for information after a viable device was found in Rossnareen Park area of west Belfast on Tuesday 8th August.

A report was received around 12.45pm that a suspicious object had been left in the area.

Officers put a cordon in place and ammunition technical officers (ATO) were called to examine it. The object was later declared to be a viable device and has been taken away to be forensically examined.

An investigation is now underway.
