Man convicted after pleading guilty to terrorism offences

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to terrorism offences and an explosives offence at the Old Bailey.

Filip Golon Bednarczyk, of Luton, pleaded guilty to: seven counts of possession of documents of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000; and one count of making or possession of explosive(s) under suspicious circumstances, contrary to Section 4 of the Explosive Substance Act.

Bednarczyk was arrested by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command at his home address on 11 December 2019. He charged with the eight indictments on 17 December 2019.

He has been remanded in custody, ahead of sentencing at the Old Bailey on a date to be confirmed.
