Russian device suspected of Birmingham DHL fire

A fire at a DHL warehouse in Birmingham is suspected of being a Russian arson attack, according to Polish officials.

Police in Poland have arrested some of those that are believed to be involved.

British counter terrorism officers are working alongside European counterparts to investigate the fire on 22 July.

Other similar incidents have occurred across Europe, including at a DHL warehouse in Leipzig.

An announcement came from Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office that it had arrested four people in connection with the fires and charged them with participating in sabotage or terrorist operations on behalf of a foreign intelligence agency.

Polish police said they believe that the goal of the attackers was to test the transfer channels for the parcels.

The Kremlin has denied any involvement.
