Man from Hull charged with terrorism offences

A 23-year old man has been charged with terrorism offence, following an investigation by CTP North East.
Mikka Anderson is charged with one offence of preparing acts of terrorism, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006; one offence of possessing articles for a terrorist purpose, contrary to section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000; two offences of possessing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000; and one offence of possessing article with blade in a public place, contrary to section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
Anderson made an appearance at Westminster Magistrates Court and has been remanded in custody to appear at the Central Criminal Court on 27 March.
A 23-year-old woman who was arrested at the same time has been released without charge.
