Terror detectives make three arrests over Omagh vehicle hijacking

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have arrested a third man in connection with a vehicle hijacking and subsequent security alert in Omagh which occurred on Saturday 6th May 2023.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on Monday under the Terrorism act following searches conducted in Omagh and was taken into custody for questioning.
Two 57-year-old men arrested earlier in the day were also taken into custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Wilson said: “Our investigation continues and I would ask anyone with information which could be of assistance with our enquiries to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2015 06/05/2023, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
