Terrorism arrests in Enniskillen

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Terrorism Investigation Unit have carried out searches in the Enniskillen area and made two arrests.

The operation follows the discovery of an improvised explosive device in Co Louth on 9th June.

Detective Chief Inspector Hamlin said: “Working in conjunction with colleagues in An Garda Síochána we carried out searches at three properties in the Enniskillen area earlier today.

“Two men, both aged in their 40s, have been arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and remain in police custody at this time.
