Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offence

Detectives from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of a terrorism offence. Assisted by the Met Police Firearms Command, the detectives carried out a pre-planned operation in north west London, with the suspect arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. The male suspect is being held under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and is in custody at a south London police station.
