Two people arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences.

Two people were arrested in Hull on Thursday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, contrary to Section 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977.

The pair, a man and a woman, both aged 23, has since been rearrested on suspicion of the preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers have until Thursday 5 March to hold the suspects.

Searches are being carried out at an address in Hull.

Counter Terrorism Policing said that there is not believed to be any immediate risk to the local community.
