Two charged in New IRA investigation

Two men in Belfast have been charged with terrorism offences. The charges include the preparation of terrorist acts and directing a terrorist organisation.

Two other men, who were also arrested on Wednesday, have been released on report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The four were arrested in west Belfast in connection to an investigation into the activities of the New IRA.

The arrests were part of the PSNI and MI5's Operation Arbacia, which aims to reduce the threat posed by violent dissident republicans.

The two will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday.
