France repatriates women and children from Syrian camps

France has announced it has repatriated 40 children and 15 women from Kurdish-run camps in northeastern Syria.

The women will be transferred to judicial authorities and the children are in the care of child care services and will have medical and social follow-ups.

The foreign ministry said: "France expresses its thanks to local authorities... for their cooperation which has made this operation possible."
