Belfast woman sentenced for terror offences

A woman from Belfast has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of terrorism-related offences.

Fionnghuala Mary Teresa Dympna Perry was sentenced on Wednesday 17 May at Belfast Crown Court.

The 65-year-old's home was searched in February 2018. During the search, officers from PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit found handwritten notes, on cigarette papers, hidden inside a perfume box. The content of notes referred to weapons and explosives.

In March this year, she was found guilty of collecting or making a record of information likely to be of use to a terrorist, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2000.
