Woman charged with terrorism offences

A woman from Stratford-upon-Avon has been charged with two counts of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The 34-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on 16 January and was remanded in custody.

West Midlands Police the charges relate to allegations of planning to travel to join ISIS in Afghanistan as well as sharing extremist material between 1 September 2022 and 10 January 2024.
