Vicki Evans appointed Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing

Assistant chief constable (ACC) Vicki Evans was appointed this week as Senior National Coordinator (SNC) for Counter Terrorism Policing, taking over from Met Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) Tim Jacques.

He has retired from policing after 37 years.

ACC Evans joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in May 2020 and prior to her appointment she held the role of temporary ACC at Dyfed-Powys Police.

She has worked in roles such as response policing, crime investigation, serious and organised crime and covert policing.

Over the last 12 months, ACC Evans has been the NPCC lead on the implementation of the volume two recommendations of the Manchester Arena Inquiry.

The commissioner of the Met Police, Sir Mark Rowley said: “Vicki steps into a critical role, and brings with her all her experience as a senior investigator and operational commander, of working with government, other agencies and critically with local policing."

ACC Evans said it is an "honour and privilege" to step into the role.

She added: “I look forward to building on these relationships to counter the threat our communities face from terrorism.”
