Man charged with terrorism offences for Christmas Day Windsor Castle incident

A man has been charged with terrorism offences following an incident in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day.

Jaswant Singh Chail, from Southampton, was charged on Tuesday with: an offence under section 2 of the Treason Act, 1842; threats to kill (contrary to section 16 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861); and possession of an offensive weapon (contrary to section 1 of the Prevention of Crime Act 1953).

He will appear at Westminster Magistrate's Court on 17th August.
