Imran Khan granted bail extension

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has had his preemptive bail extended until 12 September by a Pakistani court.

He is facing charges under the country's terrorism law for allegedly making threatening comments against senior police officials and a judge during a rally in Islamabad last month.

Khan's lawyer informed the judge Jawad Abbas that a petition had been filed in a high court to get the complaint quashed.
