Woman arrested on suspicion of protest terrorism offence

A woman has been arrested by counter terrorism detectives on suspicion of a terrorism offence at a protest.

The 19-year-old from central London was arrested on Wednesday 31 January on suspicion of inviting support for a proscribed organisation, contrary to Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The proscribed organisation in question is Hamas.

The alleged offence took place during a pro-Palestine protest in Camden on 19 October.

A search of an address in central London has been completed.
