Perimeter security protection for critical infrastructure across the globe.

The demand for security around infrastructure that both protects from the threat of intrusion whilst enabling access by pedestrians or authorised vehicles is ever increasing. With more than 50 years of experience in the supply of integrated solutions for automating public, administrative and urban environments, brands CAME Urbaco and CAME Özak have developed a series of high-security products, from rising bollards and road blockers to security turnstiles that resolve the issues that most commonly affect the management and security of critical infrastructure.

One such system is at Rome-Termini railway station, this terminus station is one of the thirteen main railway stations in Italy, transporting an average of 150 million passengers a year. The Rome-Termini and Rome-Tiburtina stations required a set of bollards at different access points to secure pedestrian traffic but also to protect against the risks of vehicle-ram attacks. The selected bollards were specially adapted to have a reduced sealing depth to be installed in areas with shallow ground space due to tunnels and groundworks beneath the site.

The G6EVO safety bollard lined in 316L stainless steel can resist the impact of a 2500kg truck travelling at 48km/h. This ensure that railway entrances are protected from such intrusions whilst allowing free access to pedestrians. Consisting of 79 fixed bollards with shallow depth reinforced sealing to protect the perimeter alongside 34 retractable bollards that allow authorised access to vehicles within the estate.

For the Brut Brek Stadium in Nieciecza, Poland, CAME turnstiles were specified to manage pedestrian access control of all entrances to the stadium and make the exits smooth after the events. CAME Özak full-height turnstiles, have bidirectional operation, and can be electromechanical or motor-driven, they are supplied complete with status and passage indicators on the front and LED lighting at the top. During power outages, the passageway is cleared by allowing free movement of the central rotor in either one or both directions, ensuring a safe exit whilst continuing to protect entrance.
