Two men arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.

A 56-year-old man was arrested in East London on Monday morning and a 28-year-old Canadian national was arrested at Heathrow Airport later that day, after arriving on a flight from Canada.

Both were arrested on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organisation, contrary to section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The men were taken to a west London police station, held under under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
