Woman arrested at Heathrow under Terrorism Act

Officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command have arrested a woman at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of terrorism offences. The 21-year-old was arrested at 21:02hrs on suspicion of preparation of acts of terrorism under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, having disembarked a flight from Istanbul, Turkey. While not many details have yet been released, the Metropolitan Police have said that the arrest is Syria-related. Further searches have been conducted at two north London addresses.
