Two further arrests in Manchester over Texas incident

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West are continuing with their investigation following the events in Texas, working closely with and are supporting US law enforcement.

As part of the local investigation, two men have been arrested in Manchester and remain in custody for questioning.

GMP have said that they continue to work closely with colleagues from other forces.

The arrests are in connection with the siege at a synagogue in Texas on 15 January. The suspect, who died at the scene, was 44-year-old Malik Faisal Akram, originally from the Blackburn area of Lancashire.
