Bleed kits rolled out in Worcestershire to support Martyn's Law

100 trauma kits have been rolled out in community spaces across Worcestershire to support the introduction of Martyn's Law.
The initiative began in November 2024 and is supported by funding from the Worcestershire County Council Public Health Team.
The kits contain trauma dressings and tourniquets and can be used by anyone without training.
Councillor Satinder Bell, cabinet member with responsibility for health and wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: “This is about being prepared, not alarmed. Trauma kits are a practical tool that can be used in a variety of situations. They’re part of our wider commitment to supporting wellbeing, safety, and emergency preparedness.”
The Heart of Worcestershire College were among the first to apply for the life-saving kits and have now installed six in their campuses.
A spokesperson for Heart of Worcestershire College said: “As part of our commitment to safety and community wellbeing, Heart of Worcestershire College has installed trauma kits across our campuses in alignment with Martyn’s Law. We’re proud to lead by example, ensuring our facilities are prepared for emergencies while supporting the wider community. Already, staff and students have told us they feel more secure knowing life-saving equipment is close at hand.”
Funding is still available for others to apply.
