Paris Attack suspect's Brussels hideout discovered
Following a series of raids in Brussels, Belgian prosecutors believe they have found a Brussels apartment where Paris attack suspect Salah Abdeslam may have been hiding.
Schaerbeek district police found traces of explosives in the apartment, along with a fingerprint belonging to Abdeslam, who was part of a planned attack conducted by ISIL which killed 130 people in Paris on 13 November 2015.
Traces of the explosive TATP and three handmade belts that might be used to transport explosives were found in the raid on 10 December in Rue Berge.
Police are still searching for Abdeslam, who was born in Brussels, and believe he took part in the Paris attacks before contacting friends in Belgium to drive him back over the border to Brussels.
The suspect is believed to have rented a VW Polo car in Belgium which was later found near the Bataclan concern hall in Paris where 89 people were killed. He is also thought to have rented a Renault Clio and reserved two hotel rooms outside Paris before the attacks.
