New York subway shooter sentenced to life in prison

Frank James, who shot ten people on the New York subway in April 2022, has been sentenced to life in prison. The 64-year-old was sentenced to 10 life terms plus 10 years by U.S. District Court Judge William Kuntz at Brooklyn federal court.
In January, James pleaded guilty to 10 counts of terrorism and weapons charges.
James set off smoke bombs on a subway train in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood and then shot ten people. No one was killed.
He was arrested in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood 30 hours later.
James Smith, who heads the FBI's New York field office, said in a statement: "Today, Frank James was sentenced for his deliberate and calculated act of terror against our city.
"He aimed to kill innocent people, who were simply going about their daily lives amid the morning rush."
