Man arrested at Heathrow Airport for terrorism offences

A 25-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested at Heathrow Airport as part of an investigation by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East.

CTP has said that the suspect was arrested under the provisions of Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and on suspicion of a number of offences, including: having committed offences of preparing for acts of terrorism, under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006; membership of a proscribed organisation, under Section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000; and receiving weapons training, under Section 54 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The arrest follows an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East which relates to Islamist Terrorism.
