Manchester Arena survivor and paramedic set for Manchester derby FA Cup final

A survivor of the Manchester Arena attack and the paramedic who saved his life are set to watch Manchester United in the FA Cup final together, after striking up a friendship.

Martin Hibbert was treated by paramedic Paul Harvey after the 2017 terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert.

After seeing Hibbert on a TV programme about the attack, Harvey contacted him. They met up at a fundraising event and have "been like brothers ever since" said Hibbert, speaking to BBC Radio Manchester

After finding out that Harvey was a big Manchester United fan, Hibbert said that when he was better, they would go to Old Trafford together, which they a couple of years ago. Hibbert then promised that if United ever got to the FA Cup final, they would go to that.

Hibbert surprised Harvey with tickets to Manchester United's semi final against Brighton at Wembley (which United won 7-6 on penalties). Now they will being going to Wembley again for the final against Manchester City.

Hibbert said: ""It was emotional. It wasn't just football, it was about love, friendship and what can come out of such a horrible attack."
