CT Policing issue warning after 16 year old sentenced

Counter Terrorism Policing North East is urging the public to be aware of online dangers facing young people after a 16-year-old was sentenced for terrorism offences.
The teen received a three year Youth Rehabilitation Order and a three year Criminal Behaviour Order, after admitting possessing extreme right wing material and distributing content to others on social media platforms.
The boy was arrested in December 2023 and charged in March with five offences under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 – possession of terrorist material; three offences under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – dissemination of terrorist material; one offence under Section 1 Criminal Damage Act 1971 and one offence under Section 30 Crime and Disorder Act 1988.
