Barcelona terror attack suspects face trial
The three men accused of helping the perpetrators of the 2017 Las Ramblas terrorist attack are to go on trial in Spain.
The trio are accused of helping the perpetrators, who were all shot dead by police, carry out the attacks that left some 140 people injured in the tourist area of Barcelona on 17 August 2017.
One of the perpetrators rammed a van into pedestrians in Barcelona's Las Ramblas tourist area, before a twin attack was launched in the nearby town of Alcanar, which is 200km (124 miles) south of Barcelona.
Two of the men, Mohamed Houli Chemlal, a 23-year-old Spanish national, and 31-year-old Moroccan national Driss Oukabir, stand accused of belonging to the jihadist cell that orchestrated the attacks, while the third defendant is accused of collaborating with them.
