Company Focus

In January 2022, the Government responded to the Protect Duty consultation, which sought to improve safety in public spaces. This response was prompted by pressure from victims’ groups, including the Martyn’s Law Campaign, named after Martyn Hett, who was tragically killed in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017.

Marshalls welcomed the response from the Government, and the legislation expected to come into effect in 2023 has become a key focus for Marshalls, which is reflected in their exhibition at the International Security Expo 2022. Marshalls specialise in creating design-led landscape protection innovations, providing proven assurance and peace of mind that the chosen products will effectively protect people and property in the event that an incident did happen.

Marshalls has been manufacturing hard landscaping materials for over 120 years and has become the UK’s leading supplier of products that create urban environments. This status has been achieved through progressive product innovation and a true commitment to providing outstanding service levels to customers, and this privileged position is sustained through continuous investment in the brand, products and people.

Marshalls Landscape Protection offers a new approach based on quality design along with an engineering and specification philosophy that enables highly effective protective and non-protective street furniture to blend seamlessly into urban landscape design.

Our developments in design, manufacture and technology negate the need for bulky and obtrusive products, enabling those who design our city spaces to think more creatively about how they can include protective and non-protective street furniture within landscape design features.

Marshalls help and provide guidance on furnishing and the overall development of urban areas, both in terms of aesthetic appeal and public safety. With a wide variety of products in their range, you will always be able to find the colour and design that best suit your requirements.

Marshalls protective street furniture is designed to promote safety in shared urban spaces, with a keen focus placed on ensuring those using the spaces feel safe without being scared. Flexible and versatile solutions allow architects, planners and designers to install security measures without instilling fear into the area. Additionally, Marshalls provide non-protective street furniture ranges that meet the requirements of any public space project, with key pieces that fit into any landscape.

Marshalls’ Rhinoguard® protective bollards are a great addition to security-focused projects. They, along with a number of our other products come with PAS-rated classification codes as standard, meaning they’ve been rigorously tested to withstand vehicle attacks. These include the PAS 68 bollards, cycle stands and litter bins, all of which are now the industry standard.

With an extensive collection of everything from bollards, planters and seating in various material options, available as crash tested or non-crash tested, the Marshalls Landscape Protection portfolio offers everything required to develop urban areas in terms of both public safety and aesthetic appeal.

Protect Duty, products that relate to it, and much more will be explored in more detail at the International Security Expo, where Marshalls Landscape Protection are exhibiting at stand B102.
