KNect365 Learning

KNect365 Learning provide online learning from the industry insider. Partnering with universities such as University of St Andrews and Liverpool John Moores University, we deliver specialised career-enhancing programmes taught by leading practitioners.

Within our Security portfolio, we teach at professional development and postgraduate level. With the University of St Andrews, ranked 3rd in the country in the Guardian’s university league table, we deliver the Certificate and Advanced Certificate in Terrorism Studies. The course is developed by the university’s Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV), Europe’s oldest centre for the academic study of terrorism. All your tutors are experts in counter-terrorism and are frequently called on by industry publications and news outlets to give their viewpoint.

Our postgraduate courses are taught and delivered by Liverpool John Moores University’s Centre for Advanced Policing Studies (LCAPS). Established in 2015, the LCAPS has a wealth of professional, practical and academic experience, as well as ties to national law enforcement. There are seven options available at a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, or Master’s level: MSc in Security Studies, MSc in Counter-Terrorism, MSc in Security Management, MA in Security and Terrorism Law, MSc in Terrorism, Policing and Security, MSc in Intelligence and Security, and MSc in Diplomacy and Security. Your teachers will have both academic and hands-on experience, and will include Sir Jon Murphy, former Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, who has over 40 years of policing experience.

All courses are delivered entirely online, giving you the flexibility to complete training without having to take time out from work to travel to seminars or sit exams. You will be assessed with online assignments, and can contact your tutors through the virtual classroom environments. Students without an undergraduate degree are also not barred from entry, as equivalent work experience is considered in the application process.

Hear what our students had to say:

“An excellent course that I have benefitted from and have certainly increased my knowledge base in this very dynamic and interesting area. I found all the lessons very informative and thoroughly enjoyed the research involved and the writing of the various essays. I will certainly be recommending this course to my colleagues.”Nick Tomlin, CSPTV student.

“This Master’s was an enjoyable and informative experience that had very good insight into the topic of international and transnational policing. Taught by experienced professionals the course not only gives you the academic side but the experience of individuals who engaged in this work first hand for many years.”Adam Merriman, LCAPS student.
