A recent entry into the security screening market, UK-based 2X Systems’ products are uniquely UK-manufactured – and provide innovative yet uncomplicated security scanning solutions at competitive prices to meet the requirements of the industry and its customers around the world.
Based on the expertise of individuals and companies within the security sector, 2X Systems has developed a range of class-leading vehicle and people x-ray scanners using locally sourced components to counter terrorism and push the boundaries of the security industry.
When it comes to installation, 2X Systems understands the difficulties involved with complicated, time-consuming security technology – which is why its innovative designs are based on delivery to site and out-of-the-box operation, eliminating the need for highly-skilled engineers to carry out installation where possible.
The 2X-300 Vehicle Inspection System
Under the expert guidance of CEO Frank Baldwin – a respected figure with over 30 years’ experience in the industry – 2X Systems has designed the 2X-300 system specifically for the screening of vehicles (including their chassis) for bombs and smuggled goods.
The 2X-300 vehicle inspection system has been developed with ease of transportation and installation in mind after Frank saw a gap in the market for flexible, compact and easily moveable security screening devices. The range consists of the rapid deployable 2X-300DT, a fully self-contained system with minimal support required for installation – as well as the fixed 2X-300DF for situations where the system is to be operated on a permanent or semi-permanent basis, and the 2X-300DC conveyor which enables driverless operation.
Transcending those systems currently available within the market, the multi-application 2X-300 easily meets the demands for vehicle screening at ports, border crossings and secure facilities – with an optimised footprint to simplify integration into existing structures.
The 2X-300 can be configured to operate in a number of modes; the conveyor option processes up to 55 vehicles per hour, whilst the drive-through mode is tailored for busy checkpoints, enabling a high throughput of up to 250 vehicles per hour.
What’s more, the ‘patent pending’ design eliminates the need for an installation team. All the equipment required to move the system into position and operate it are included in the container it arrives at the site in – allowing the 2X-300 to be fully operational in as little as 30 minutes on flat ground, depending on the type of deployment. The 20ft shipping container also transforms into an office, to ensure optimum use at point of installation.
As such, the 2X-300 system is an ideal solution for the protection of critical infrastructure facilities and for use in various system applications – including border checkpoints, government buildings, military bases, nuclear power plants, hotel and events venues – in the fast-moving world of security and industrial inspection.
Comprehensive Security Solutions
2X Systems extensive product range also features a selection of additional solutions to cater for a range of security screening scenarios. This includes the Secupod security solution, a container system which can be operational in under an hour, and the 2X-833 – a class-leading, walk-through metal detector offering security operators a reliable system for use in various operational environments.
The company also offers a variety of mobile security space solutions (temporary buildings and structures that can be customised to meet customers’ specific needs), which have been designed to accommodate security checkpoints and multiple search areas – ideal for sports events and high-security venues.
Led by Industry Experience
An experienced entrepreneur, Frank Baldwin has extensive knowledge of the x-ray security market and has worked with some of the most innovative and progressive companies in the security sector.
Over the years, he has held a number of senior positions within the industry – including president of international business at Rapiscan Systems – and has overseen the delivery and installation of systems and projects worldwide.
Under Frank’s leadership as managing director in 2008, Rapiscan received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in recognition of the company’s sustained business growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In 2012, Rapiscan went on to receive the Queen’s Award for Innovation for the development of its Eagle Radiation Detector, a system which detects – and identifies the type of – radiation being emitted from containerised cargo or cargo carried by vehicles.
Today, Frank continues to be an active figure within the sector, advising organisations on the purchase and deployment of security equipment in the Middle East and CIS countries.
With Frank at the helm, the team at 2X Systems creates exciting and innovative technology for use in various system applications. Over the next five years, the company aims to continue expanding its product portfolio with a range of innovative, advanced and best-in-class security screening solutions.
